The Bank Guarantee must be presented to the Italian Embassy in the foreign citizen’s country of residence and serves to ensure the means of subsistence for the entire period the foreign citizen remains in Italian territory.

On March 1, 2000, the Ministry of the Interior issued a Directive, which defines the amounts and methods of subsistence needed by a foreign citizen wishing to stay in Italy and throughout the Schengen Area.

HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY FOR STUDY OR WORK PURPOSES

To obtain a study visa, it is mandatory to also present a Health Insurance Policy at the Italian Embassy in the country of origin for a maximum period of 12 months, the duration depends on the duration of the study course and can be either 6 months or 12 months.

The Bank Guarantee for a Study Visa for foreign citizens for a period of 1 Year costs €450.00.. Otherwise, for a duration of 6 months, the cost is €260.00.

What does the Health Insurance Policy for Study or Work Visa cover?

The Health Insurance Policy covers unlimited medical care assistance DUE TO ILLNESS OR INJURY throughout the Italian territory and the entire Schengen area.

It offers the dispatch of a doctor, an ambulance in Italy, indication of a specialist doctor, return to one’s home country even with a relative, travel of a relative, accompaniment of a minor, extension of the stay or early return

Reimbursement of medical expenses, both at a hospital or pharmaceutical expenses incurred following an accident or sudden illness, is provided.

What documents are needed to obtain the bank guarantee for a study or work visa?

Just a few simple documents:

  • Identity document and tax code of the person inviting the student or worker to Italy
  • Self-certification of income, through a form sent by us
  • Copy of the passport of the person entering Italy (just the two pages with the data and photo, photocopied on a single page, open book)

If the visa is denied, is a refund of the Health Insurance possible?

NO. It is not possible to refund, but if it is not yet in force and the start date of the policy has yet to elapse, it is only possible to change the dates of the Insurance Policy, but if the Policy has already elapsed and thus started the validity period, it is NOT possible to change the dates.

Is it possible to change the date of the health policy if the visa is issued after the date communicated in the initial request?
